This project couldn’t have been undertaken without the kind support of The Historical Society of Barvas and Bru. Special thanks to Angaidh Eubaidh and Norman – who were so generous with their time, knowledge and insight.

Thanks to the BBC archive for use of ‘Eilean Rìomhach an Fhraoich’ which was recorded in 1996 at the Royal National Mòd and with kind permission from Murdo’s family.

About Mairi

Mu dheidhinn Mairi

’S e neach-ealain Gàidhlig a th’ann am Màiri. Bha ì air a breith ann an Dùn Èideann agus air a togail a’ bruidhinn dà-chànanach anns

a’ Ghàidhlig cuide ri Beurla. Tha ì a-nis a’ fuireach ann an Bail’ Àrd Bhuirgh an taobh siar Leòdhais.

Tha Màiri an dòchas gun seal am pròiseact mar a chuidicheas ealain cànan na Gàidhlig anns a’ choimhearsneachd. Tha seo a thaobh a bhi na chleachdadh mar rud a sheallas dha daoine ciamar a tha Gàidhlig a’ toirt orra a bhi a’ faireachdainn, ma ’s e cudeigin às a’ bhaile no luchd-tadhail le ùidh ann an cultar agus cànan na Gàidhlig a th’annta.
